Recycle or die, the experience to stay overnight in a Jumbo jet that no longer flies ….

 

The 747 Hostel in Stockholm just off the Arlanda Airport is where you can spend the night onboard a real jumbo jet – on the ground!

  

With a huge concrete foundation laid and the jet´s landing gear anchored to huge steel cradles,  the hostel is a design challenge as a low cost accommodation in the swedish capital. Having trouble sleeping in planes? no worries, you will barely recognise cattle class as the jet´s interior has been completely design, replumbed  and all seat removed to give space to 25 dorm rooms, shared bathrooms and some double rooms on the upper deck of the plane.

 

The plane is a used out jumbo jet model 747-212B made in 1976. It has been awarded a brand new, modern interior decoration, offering night guests an experience apart. It’s exciting for aviation enthusiasts and families with children as well as for business people. This exhilarating experience leaves no-one indifferent. That´s a very good example of sustainable interior design.

 


You can also enjoy the experience to stay overnight at the cockpit with the original dials and knobs still in the plane, a bird´s eye airport view and ensuite bathroom, that´s the answer for the penthouse jumbo …
